2024-04-25

The 14th annual LUMAT Research symposium 3.–4.6.2024 gathers researchers, teachers, teacher students, and doctoral students worldwide to discuss hot topics on science education. Join us online to expand your knowledge and share your thoughts with your colleagues!

The theme for Symposium 2024 is New trends in math and computing science education. We’ll enjoy two intriguing keynote speeches: first on Monday we’ll learn from Senior University Lecturer Anu Laine (University of Helsinki) about teaching and learning of problem-solving skills with the title of Children as Future Problem Solvers?

Tuesday’s keynote is given by Professor Mikko-Jussi Laakso (University of Turku) where the focus is on learning analytics and AI with the presentation Developing Nationwide Teaching and Learning Ecosystem with Learning Analytics and AI.

Call for Papers

Keynotes are followed up with smaller presentation sessions on the theme. LUMAT is searching for speakers to share their research, good practices, and other ideas for these smaller sessions. Whether you are a teacher, a researcher, or a doctoral researcher we are eager to give you the possibility to present your findings and ideas on this year's theme and to lead the discussion with participants and fellow speakers. Time slots for each speaker vary from 30 minutes to up to an hour. Send a short description about your presentation to luma-keskus((at))helsinki.fi by 13.5.

Symposium 2024 is held as a remote event on two consecutive days 3.–4.6. and it is open to scholars worldwide, free of charge. Chair Professor Maija Aksela will host the symposium.
