Background
Research and practices presented during Finnish National Days of Chemical Education had been published annually in printed and electronic form in 2007–2011. Based on the good experiences, it was decided in 2012 that there is a demand for a journal focusing on the education, educational research, and inquiry-based teaching of all subjects in the fields of math, science and technology.
Initially LUMAT published both scientific and general articles together, but since 2016, the journal was divided into two separate journals, LUMAT and LUMAT-B.
LUMAT-B continues to publish conference, symposium and seminar proceedings free of charge to readers and authors.
