A review article is an article that summarizes the current state of understanding on a topic. A review can be e.g. a systematic including all relevant articles or a narrative that describes the development of the research from some specific viewpoint. The research type is theoretical research which means that the it doesn't include new empirical data. They are excellent sources for getting an introductory for a specific research topic.
